The audience is able to identify the genre of the film is based on action/adventure by the characters and events that are featured. The initial shot is of the main character, Captain Jack Aubrey, the fact that the crew all look at him shows that he is the leader and has the and commander of the ship relating the the name of the movie. His response not to surrender the ship results in feud between the two ships. The audience get the impression that he is an audacious and intrepid character.Once the battle is over the crew all thank him for the important decision that was made.

2. Explain how each of the following is used to create effects that fit the action adventure genre:
Soundtrack
The soundtrack throughout the extract is purposely used to create certain effects to fit the genre of being an action adventure film. This is can be identified through the use of synchronous sound; this has been used to relate to the sound of the guns and explosions heard at the beach. The audience expects this to happen due to the fact that there is a war. In addition noises of screaming an shouting is heard in the background form others on the beach. Once again this is what is to be expected by the audience when fighting in a war. This is a key feature and it is imperative that the audience understand that it is an action adventure film from the fact of the sounds and that there is a war. Digetic sounds are also used in this extract this is utilized to create atmosphere and tension between both sides. This quite similar to synchronous sound but is different in the way that it focuses on the sounds of voices, guns and even from the boost of the exo suit. The sound from the crash of the plane follows the conventions of an action adventure film.
Editing
Editing is also used in various ways to help create innumerable effects to enlarge the action genre. It is used in many occasions such as, jump edit form when the plane crashes to when they land on the beach, by the use of this it makes the audience left in shock as they are not sure at to what is going to happen.

The show initially begins with the familiar theme song. 'Bad Education' is a British sitcom, staring Jack Whitehall as a young teacher Alfie Wickers; because of this the audience already know what he is like due his previous work on TV. This gives the audience the ability to build relationships with each of the characters further into the series as they get to know them. The show gives the audience the opportunity to view the various stereotypes there are within the show. One of the stereotypes that is featured in the program is an example of an Chinese immigrant, she is the only intelligent one in the class and wishes to better her education.
